With the purchase of this product I had assumed it was designed to hold the weight of eight coats. There is one deficiency with the design. American homes are built with studs on sixteen inch centers, unfortunately the mount holes on these are not! Why design and build these where they can not be properly supported with wood screws on the studs? To mount these, you will catch one stud and the remaining three mounts you are required to use wall anchors. I did not even attempt that as I live in the midwest, we use winter coats here and they are not light. I care not to take the chance and load this rack up only for the rack to come off the sheetrock with the weight of the coats and have three large holes from the pulled anchors in my finished walls.I do like the design of these. That being said I am forced to cut off the flattened ends, grind them clean and paint the area then I will drill holes in the rods at the appropriate spots-to catch wall studs and mount them with wood screws.

I got this pretty rack to hang on the wall in my bedroom for scarves since Fall is right around the corner. It also works for some belts, as well as a work sweater that I wear a lot and wanted easy access to. I love the black color: it matches my dark bedroom furniture and looks nice on my light walls. I was a little worried about how large it would be, but the size is really nice for what I need it for- about 1.5 to 2' in length. It's also attached in the middle so there's no chance it will separate: it will look exactly like the picture.The only issue I had was with removing it from the plastic ties: if you're using scissors like I did, be careful not to scratch the black enamel off! One way to remove it without doing too much damage is to flip it over so that if you do scratch it, it's the back of the hanger. Then remove the cardboard so that your scissors can better fit around the thick plastic rings that held it to the cardboard backing. Hope that makes sense.

This rack looks very attractive and is very sturdy. I'm happy with the rack itself and it would probably work well in the closet, which is why I gave it 5 stars. I bought it for my bathroom thinking it would work well for towels, though, and it really doesn't work well for that purpose. It is a little too small for 8 towels to fit really well and the hooks don't work well for towels. It's hard to get the towels to stay on the hooks. You have to bunch the towel up just right to make sure there is enough of the towel at the top or the towel just slides right off of the hook. I think I will find something else to use as a towel rack in the bathroom and maybe use this rack on my kitchen wall to hold mugs. I think it would work great for that and would look really nice with my black kitchen appliances.
